     This multimedia installation piece addresses and critiques the culture of “slut shaming”. The artist documents their body using different apparatuses (digital camera, film camera, cellphone) to create a conversation about the viewers perception of female nudity in relationship to fine art v.s private imagery. By curating and consciously presenting these images, the artist challenges the stigma surrounding a woman expressing and enjoying sexuality, while making the viewer question why they may feel differently about the same type imagery that is shot with different technology.    While making the work the artist sent their film negatives to get processed, and to their surprise one of the two rolls returned were images of flowers they had never seen before. Upon contacting the shop they were informed they had accidentally been given another customer’s roll and in return they received hers. Embracing this accidental but conceptually relevant mishap, they chose to use the images of the roll acquired and distributed these throughout the grid format of their own images. In doing so this reflects upon the consensual and non-consensual sharing of photos that constantly happen with the type of images presented (often referred to as revenge porn) and how that feeds into the culture of “slut shaming”.    The text overlaid is a piece written by the artist, commenting on their own frustrations with the culture of slut shaming, and the stigmatization that accompanies a woman being comfortable in celebrating their own sexuality.
